BPL : Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Blackpool, Charlie Adam and Defoe scored, two penalties

Tottenham Hotspur throw away a golden opportunity to erode the points with Manchester City in hunt for Champions League tickets for next season. Harry Redknapp's squad is only capable of a 1-1 draw against Blackpool.

Playing in front of his own supporters at White Hart Lane Stadium on Saturday (05/07/2011), the Spurs first left after Charlie Adam scored a goal through a penalty. Defoe managed to equalize finished 1-1 in two minutes before the finish.

1-2 defeat of Everton gained City, a few hours earlier, makes the Spurs a great opportunity to erode the seven-digit deficit to just four points, if able to beat Blackpool at White Hart Lane. Unfortunately, the Spurs are only able to secure a point, after almost losing.

With this result, the Spurs can only erode the difference in points with City into six figures. Spurs to temporarily rise to fifth position, displacing the new play Liverpool-Sunday-with Raihan 56 points.
